Does it work with youtu.be links and playlists?
youtu.be, /shorts, /live and /embed links work. Paste one video at a time — playlists aren't supported yet.
What if the video has no captions?
Most YouTube videos have auto-generated captions. When a video has none we say so instead of guessing.
Is it really free?
Yes. There is no account, no daily cap and no watermark. The site is supported by clearly labelled sponsor cards.
Which formats can I download?
TXT (with or without timestamps), SRT and VTT. Copy puts the text on your clipboard in one click.
Where do the transcripts come from?
From the captions the platform already generated for the video. When a video has no captions we transcribe the audio with an open-source speech model on our own servers.
How long can a video be?
Videos with captions have no limit. Videos without captions are transcribed up to 10 minutes.
