Questions
- Does it work with youtu.be links and playlists?
- youtu.be, /shorts, /live and /embed links work. Paste one video at a time — playlists aren't supported yet.
- What if the video has no captions?
- Most YouTube videos have auto-generated captions. When a video has none we say so instead of guessing.
- Is it really free?
- Yes. There is no account, no daily cap and no watermark. The site is supported by clearly labelled sponsor cards.
- Which formats can I download?
- TXT (with or without timestamps), SRT and VTT. Copy puts the text on your clipboard in one click.
- Where do the transcripts come from?
- From the captions the platform already generated for the video. When a video has no captions we transcribe the audio with an open-source speech model on our own servers.
- How long can a video be?
- Videos with captions have no limit. Videos without captions are transcribed up to 10 minutes.
